BBC viewers will remember how Jack’s role was quickly snapped up by DI Neville Parker who didn’t exactly have an easy ride when he first arrived on Saint Marie.

After a couple of cases, working hard with the other officers, DI Parker decided he wanted to stay on the island and do whatever he could to help the residents.

However, since the end of the last season, viewers have taken the time to re-watch old episodes and see if there were any details they missed.

In episode eight of season eight, a horse-trekking expedition was cut short when Jack discovered the dead body of a rider in the most unexpected of places.

When opening up the police station to begin their day, the officers stumbled upon the deceased.

The body of Adam Renshaw (Tristan Sturrock) had been leaned up against the front door of the station from the inside and when Jack opened the door, the dead man fell out onto the deck.

But, this left fans more confused because of the facts they had gathered about the police station.

Fans took to Twitter to discuss their theories of how the body got into the station initially.

This isn’t the only thing fans have spotted from the show, another fan took to Reddit recently to ask about one of the main characters’ roles on the island.

Catherine Bordey (Élizabeth Bourgine) had been a member of the Death in Paradise star since the very first season and as viewers know her as the owner of the bar in Saint Marie.

In season six, she was also made Mayor of the island, but fans can’t seem to work out what she actually does saying she seems to have a lot of time on her hands.

One fan took to Reddit and said: “Catherine sure does have a lot of free time from being the mayor.”

Another added: “Yeah, you’d think she’d spend some time doing something to bring down the ridiculous number of murders in her small berg. Every week! A PR nightmare!.”

It has always been a running joke throughout the show that Catherine is a terrible cook, continuing to make the detectives her famous chicken soup.

However, Catherine is always on hand to help the officers if and when they need it, shouldn’t she be taking more time to lead the island?

Death in Paradise can be streamed on BBC iPlayer.
