Chris Evans: Virgin Radio host praises ex-wife Billie Piper’s generous move | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Chris Evans is auctioning some of his prized possessions to raise cash for the NHS. The 54-year-old is selling everything from vintage James Bond posters to Concorde seats.

The Virgin Radio host told listeners during the show that the leading bid on one of his posters was from his former wife.

Speaking on the show, Chris said: “Our last Tango in Paris, a French poster. The leading bid so far is £450 from a Ms B.[Billie] Piper.”

He gushed: “Ms B.[Billie] Piper bidding for some stuff here. I love you for this Bill.”

It seemingly appeared that Billie was not done with bidding as she also put in for a Sir Rod Stewart poster.

Chris is also auctioning a miniature version of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, a throne he bought for his Los Angeles home and the front wing of the late Formula 1 star James Hunt’s car.

The broadcaster and his family have demonstrated the lots in a series of pictures on an auction website where buyers can bid online.

One photograph shows wife Natasha sitting on the Concorde seats, which were salvaged from the supersonic jet.

Speaking about his epic auction for the NHS, Chris spoke in detail on his show earlier this week.

“Today we start our Family Evans garage sale for the NHS,” he told listeners.

“We’ve done it – we’ve put together this website with a very, very nice man who runs a company called Bid In. I’ve never met the guy but he’s an absolute superstar.

“One hundred per cent of the proceeds from the auction will go to the NHS charity which needs it most come one minute past midnight on Saturday morning, when the auction closes.”

Chris Evans Virgin Radio Breakfast Show airs weekdays at 6am.
