Captain Tom’s ‘brilliant’ appearance on Terry Wogan’s Blankety Blank delights BBC viewers | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Ms Madoc continued: “Many many congratulations to you on your 100th birthday.

“No wonder you saved the pad and the pen from it because it was very special.”

Captain Tom’s daughter Hannah had been able to find the infamous ‘chequebook and pen’ prize from the show which the centenarian won.

Twitter user Nickie Miles-Wildin said: “My respect for Capt Tom Moore has risen even more – he was on Blankety Blank & still has his Blankety Blank cheque book. Lost the pen but that doesn’t matter.”

At the time of writing, Captain Tom has raised £30,727,372 for NHS Charities Together.

He has completed his aim of walking 100 lengths of his garden to raise money for frontline health service staff.

As thanks for his dedication, the Queen promoted the WW2 veteran from captain to honorary colonel.

A Battle of Britain Memorial Flight flypast of a Spitfire and a Hurricane has also been organised by the RAF to mark his birthday.

Today is the final day the JustGiving page will accept donations.
