Taylor Swift makes a cheeky reference to her 22 music video with doe-eyed quarantine selfie

Miss Americana Taylor Swift is just as bored as you and me.

The international superstar, 30, shared a simple selfie while passing the time in quarantine Monday, while wearing minimal make-up.

But the Grammy-winner’s caption had a little Easter egg for super-fans, making a super obscure reference to Taylor’s 22 music video from all the way back in 2012.

Deep cut: Taylor Swift wore minimal make-up as she shared a selfie with a subtle reference to her song 22 while in quarantine on Monday

Taylor looked fresh-faced and doe-eyed in the photo, which she captioned with the painfully relatable: ‘Not a lot going on at the moment.’

Only the most dedicated Swifties would have recognized the phrase, which appeared on a shirt the star wore in her video for 22, one of the singles off her album Red.

Taylor fans snatched up the Ashish Gupta top almost instantly after the music video’s debut, even though it cost a pricey $895. Soon after tons of knock-offs flooded Etsy though.

People read into the post even more, with some theorizing she was suggesting a May 8th announcement of some sort.

The post was made at exactly 5:08pm and according to fans the five and eight are references to the ’58 years later’ note from the wedding scene in the music video for The Man.

‘Taylor’s recent IG/Twitter posts were published at 5:08pm EST, further fueling the rumors of a possible May 8th announcement/release,’ one fan explained.

Taylor recently talked about how she’s been spending her time in isolation.

‘I love spending a full evening cooking a meal while sipping a glass of wine and listening to old music,’ she told People magazine.

In an interview earlier this month, the Red singer spoke on how she is staying connected with friends and family during this distant time.

‘During this time I know that a lot of my friends and I have been doing a sort of weekly family FaceTime, which is always hilarious,’ she told SiriusXM.

Adding: ‘I think it’s really important that we all stay connected because, you know, isolation doesn’t have to be an all encompassing thing. ‘

She went on to say: ‘We may be all isolated physically but we can still keep in touch with people, we can still play games with our friends and families on our phones—that is one of the great things about modern technology.’

‘So I hope you guys are doing a lot of self care in terms of staying connected to the people that remind you of home, even if the situation is strange and really confusing at this moment,’ The Man singer continued.

Not only are cooking and wine keeping her busy but in the radio interview she said she has been consuming plenty of movies and TV shows.

‘A lot of people have been watching lots and lots of TV in this time of quarantine. I have actually been going back and watching old films that I hadn’t seen before,’ the Cats star said.

‘I went and watched – I actually hadn’t seen Rear Window and if you haven’t seen that film go check it out. It’s got Grace Kelly, it’s phenomenal, it’s [by] [Alfred] Hitchcock.’

‘But mostly I’ve been online trying to figure out how to help others,’ Taylor added. ‘And [I’m] just constantly in awe of our first responders and our emergency workers and our health care professionals who are putting themselves in danger every single day that they go to work.’

Taylor said: ‘One thing that I think has been really encouraging to me is going online and see that a lot of people really are banding together and helping each other.’

‘I think right now we have to connect with our humanity more than we ever have before,” she said. ‘So, that’s one thing that I’ve been loving seeing is outreach, people being there for each other in this time.
