Archie, Veronica, Jughead and Betty are very different, so it makes sense the next stage of their life would vary for each of them.
Speaking to Whendopolis Videos at San Diego Comic Con in 2019, Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre Sacasa reflected on the future and season five.
He said: “The show’s called Riverdale, can the show called Riverdale reset to another town or city? Can we really send the kids to separate places?
“I also think it’s a cheat if they all stay and go to Riverdale Community College. So, it’s a challenge. We have started talking about it.
“We have some ideas, so pretty preliminary. So bittersweet, so they are starting to make plans for the future.”
Given this interview was a year ago, it seems likely the writers may have now decided to send the Core Four in different directions with the romance between Archie and Betty helping to begin his split.
