Piers exploded into a rant saying: “We’re all on the same side against the same common enemy, there’s no need for partisan politics!”
Bringing up Brexit, he raised his hands in disbelief, announcing: “It’s got nothing to do with Brexit! Brexit is irrelevant to any of this!
“So why don’t we just allow people to do their jobs?
“Scientists to probe, journalists to probe – that is what we’re supposed to be doing.”

“You know, every government minister says, ‘We have been following the science.’ So, you’ve not been taking political decisions, you’ve been taking decisions based on what scientists tell you.”
Shortly after this, however, Piers became convinced he heard Mr. Arger laughing at his question which left him furious.
He jumped in to say: “It’s not funny is it?”
To which Arger replied: “No it’s not funny,” prompting Piers to reply: “Well, stop laughing then!”
