Ozark season 3 theory: Should Darlene Snell have been killed off? | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Fans of Ozark had to wait for two years for the third series but were thrilled when it finally dropped on Netflix last month. The story continued to follow Marty (played by Jason Bateman) and Wendy Byrde (Laura Linney) as they tried to stay out of trouble while laundering money for the Navarro Cartel. However, some viewers have questioned the survival of one particular character.

Power star Joseph Sikora joined the cast of Ozark for the third series as the son of Kansas City Mob leader Frank Cosgrove Jr.
Right from the beginning, it looked like he was going to be trouble as he was causing a scene in the casino.
When Ruth Langmore (Julia Garner) saw what was going on, she decided to kick him out but he continued to cause problems.
So to ensure he didn’t come back, Ruth threw him into the lake.
But this only made him even angrier and eager to get his revenge on her.

Should Darlene Snell have been killed off?

Darlene went to meet Frank Cosgrove Jr but little did he know what she was planning.
In an act of revenge for what he had done to Ruth, Darlene shot Frank in the groin, leaving him screaming in pain with fans unaware if he survived.
At the end of the series, Darlene then went to visit Frank’s dad and mob boss Frank Cosgrove Snr (John Bedford Lloyd).
She offered him a deal which would mean he would get “millions of dollars” in exchange for his silence on what happened.
Darlene said: “I know none of that’s going to bring your boy’s pecker back, but it’s millions of dollars every year in your pocket.
“There’s justice in that.”
After a short period of consideration, Frank accepted the deal which was going to benefit them both.

But since the series was released, fans have criticised the fact Frank Cosgrove Snr did not seek revenge against Darlene despite him being a mob boss.
One fan on Reddit commented: “Would the KC mob boss in a trillion years work work with the lady who shot off his son’s d**k?
“Like, no, Ozark, you don’t get to do that. You don’t get to pull out all the stops to make your stupid crazy old redneck lady character continually survive in the face of all logic.”
Another said: “At first Frank cares about the death of those 3 boys, now all of a sudden he doesn’t care about his son losing his nuts?
“That’s ridiculous. You just ended his bloodline.
“He should have killed Darlene.”
