Fans of Outlander know Claire (played by Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) are set to die in a house fire as was revealed in their obituary, which was found by their daughter Brianna (Sophie Skelton). Brianna travelled back in time to warn her parents of their impending death and was followed by her beau Roger Mackenzie (Richard Rankin). The Frasers are now settled on the Ridge in North Carolina but it looks as though there could be trouble ahead which could lead to them making an unexpected decision.
The obituary for Claire and Jamie was published on January 21 177? with the final number being illegible.
Season five is set between 1770 and 1772, which has left fans worried the couple’s death could take place very soon.
But a few viewers believe the obituary may be part of a bigger plan set up by Claire and Jamie who will fake their own deaths.
Reddit fan alt-ging has suggested: “Brianna decided to go through the stones after she finds out about Jamie and Claire’s obituary because she wants to warn them and hopefully prevent their death.

“This eventually leads Roger through the stones after her, and to the birth of her/their child Jeremiah.
“I have this working theory that the obituary is fake and/or they will end up creating a fire to fake their deaths to use as a cover up for when they eventually do decide to return through the stones once they know if Jeremiah can hear them.”
Another believes they could fake their deaths to avoid fighting got the British as it is hinted there is trouble stirring in the American colonies in the trailer for episode 11.
Now it seems this could actually take place as Claire and Jamie begin to fear for their future on the Ridge.
Unfortunately, it looks like their plan might not work as Jamie can be seen running to light the cross he erected on Fraser’s Ridge.
When the cross burns, it is a call to his men to gather and prepare to fight – could their secret plan to leave be exposed?
Fans have been busy speculating what could happened next and one is certain, Brianna and Roger will go back to the future with Jemmy.
They theorised: “I honestly think that Brianna and Roger will go back to the future. And maybe a year or 20 years will pass and they will come back. Or maybe Jemmy will.
“I think their decision to travel back to the future will be a last minute decision and they’ll have no choice but to use that moment to see if Jemmy can travel through the stones.
“I really hope that they don’t pull a Claire and do a 20 year time jump and then bring them back. That would suck.
“I bet Jamie and Claire will die and Brianna and Roger will find out in the future and they will go back and prevent their deaths.”
Others however are keen for Jamie and Claire to finally reveal to Young Ian (John Bell) that she is a time traveller.
“I wonder if this will be the episode they tell Ian the truth??!! God I hope so!!” one fan commented on the latest trailer.
Another added: “I hope they tell the truth finally.”
