Filming for Line Of Duty came to halt last month just a month into production for series six after as the TV industry was brought to halt by the coronavirus pandemic.

Asked how he’s been coping with life in lockdown, Adrian told Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby: ‘We were a month in and had to stop. I’m kind of worried to tell you the truth about what’s going to happen… we’re all eating a lot.’

Phil and Holly then laughed at his response before Adrian continued: ‘Vicky McClure is up there in Nottingham and she’s on the rich tea. Me and Vicky have got to watch it!’

Adrian explained he’s been passing the time during the lockdown by cooking and working on his garden, and said he’s trying to keep busy until filming can resume.

He added: ‘I’m like everybody else, I’m lucky that I have a lovely garden here. I’m doing a lot of gardening, very obsessed about cooking.

‘Work is so important, it gives you your dignity, for mental health and all the rest of it. We’re not used to all being cooped up are we? It’s a difficult time.’

‘As the series progresses, he’s doing the wrong things for the right reasons. There’s lots of threads that get teased out.
