Sarah Silverman continues her daily salute of essential workers and steps out on her NYC fire escape to bang on a pan with her assistant

She’s been among the many appreciative New Yorkers who regularly stop at 7pm to applaud frontline and essential workers of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

And on Sunday, Sarah Silverman was back out on the fire escape of her apartment building in Manhattan, with friend and personal assistant Annie Segal, banging on pots and pans while hollering out in celebration.

Like clockwork, for nearly three weeks time now, the pair have been taking part in the daily recognition of health care providers, supermarket workers, and restaurant delivery workers, among others.

And as usual, the two were all smiles as they cheered on the heroes amid the pandemic as the sounds of others who joined in from windows, rooftops and balconies rang out.

Even people living in residential areas that aren’t close to a hospital have been participating in the daily celebration.

‘It makes us feel connected and that we aren’t alone,’ Silverman has explained previously about the added benefit of the recent salute.
