Inside Richard Wilkins’ $5million Sydney family home

Christian Wilkins celebrated his 25th birthday with a house party on Saturday.

However, he only had his father Richard for a guest amid the COVID-19 pandemic, as they marked the milestone inside the Wilkins family home in Cremorne, Sydney.

Richard purchased the property for $2million back in 2004, and it’s now worth around $5million following vast renovations, as estimated by On The House.

Richard’s home boasts four bedrooms, three bathrooms and two swimming pools.

The large open plan lounge and kitchen, complete with a custom-made built-in bookcase and library, which Richard crafted himself, creates a cosy atmosphere.

‘When I renovated the kitchen I built a big bookcase. I love having books for company and I love the colour palette they create,’ he once told the Herald Sun.

‘The kitchen is the centre of the house. All the activity happens around the big stainless-steel kitchen bench. I love hanging out here and I love cooking.’

The veteran entertainment reporter also has his very own home bar.

Not only does it boast more alcohol than many venues in the city, it also has an adjoining store room – and could function as a professional establishment.

Christian mounted the bar to share a picture celebrating his birthday on Saturday, surrounded by a balloon display and three cakes.

‘When I’m not working, I just love nothing more than being at home, pottering around, fixing stuff, playing games and hanging out by the pool,’ he says.

‘It’s a little oasis and at home, behind closed doors, it’s just us.’
