Commissioner Selwyn Patterson (Don Warrington) had to hire temporary replacement DI Neville Parker (Ralf Little) while he was looking for someone more permanent to take on the role.
Initially, DI Parker, couldn’t wait to leave the island but after spending a few weeks there, he realised he wanted to stay and asked if he could take on the role permanently.
Although reluctant, Commissioner Patterson agreed and DI Parker will now return for the 10th series of the drama.
