The controversial Netflix docu-series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness has captivated online audiences since its release a month ago. It has been watched by more than 64 million households across the world. While this falls around a million short of the streaming giant’s most popular show this month – the fourth season of Money Heist, also known as La Casa De Papel – it’s clear Tiger King remains an undeniable success. Despite this, the TV show has seeped its way into everyday life and conversation all over the world. This includes US President Donald Trump addressing it during a speech and even Prince William making a quip about Tiger King during the BBC’s Big Night In. The popular programme shows big cat keeper Joe Exotic struggle to stay afloat as animal activists try to shut down his zoo over alleged animal cruelty. Campaigner Carole Baskin launched numerous lawsuits to end his operations – reportedly totalling up to $2.5 million (£2m) in legal costs. The show ends with Joe Exotic in jail serving a 22 year sentence for trying to hire a hitman to kill Ms Baskin, animal abuse and other crimes. Recently his husband Dillon Passage has spoken out about life since Joe’s imprisonment and revealed shocking details about the unbelievable messages he’s been sent online.

The Netflix star is desperately fighting for his freedom and is likely to appeal the 22 jail year sentence he was served.
Joe’s husband Dillon Passage has been speaking out on behalf of the self-professed ‘Tiger King’ about what he claims are mistruths in the docuseries.
He rejected claims his partner had hurt the animals in his care, which he dismissed as an “activist hoax”, during an interview with FUBAR Radio.
Dillon also revealed he had been hounded by the public since the show was released – stating some had sent him brutal abuse messages and others shared naked photographs.
He said: “I’ve definitely received quite a few nudes from people and it’s just like, ‘keep that to yourself’.
“I already know what a wiener looks like, I don’t need to see yours too!”
One of the hosts, Joanna Chimonides mused about what people hope to happen when they send unsolicited explicit content – typically of their genitals.
She said: “What is going through people’s minds when they send that? Do they think I’m gonna be like, ‘Wow, love that, accept’.”
Dillon sarcastically added: “Yes, that’s awesome! Yeah, no, it’s definitely not like that! I’m like delete, swipe!”

Dillon explained how his life had changed since the Netflix show was first broadcast on March 20.
He said: “People keep calling me a celebrity and I’m like, I’m just a normal dude.
“I do everything that everybody else does. It’s not like I’m living in Hollywood or anything like that!
“It’s definitely been weird, people wanting to take pictures and reaching out to me.
“I just found there’s a frickin’ Dillon Passage fan page on Instagram! Now I’m just waiting for the hate page, honestly!”
