TALK OF THE TOWN: Belgravia’s £4million star Alice Eve hits the shops sporting a £30 dress
She has reportedly amassed an impressive £4.9 million fortune thanks to her work in Hollywood and major TV roles including Susan Trenchard in period drama Belgravia.
So I was rather surprised to see Alice Eve sporting a £30 dress as she snapped up some essentials at her local stores in London.
Alice looked effortlessly cool by matching her monochrome Topshop mini-dress with Birkenstock Arizona sandals as she popped into Sainsbury’s for a bottle of own-brand bleach, before spotting that other lockdown staple – eggs – at a nearby butcher’s.
For stars such as Alice, 38, the current situation does have one small benefit – at least she can pop out for supplies knowing that even the most ardent fan won’t dare get closer than two metres away!

Fans of legendary diva Diana Ross beware: if you approach her unannounced she may well try to crush you – with a garage door. That’s what fashion designer Zandra Rhodes tells me after a rather worrying encounter with the star.
Dame Zandra says she approached Diana – who she already knew – after seeing the singer getting out of a car at her home in Los Angeles.
But then ‘this icy cold voice says’, “If you come one step nearer this garage door, I will shut it down on you.” Yes it was Diana Ross.’
In her defence, Diana, 76, quickly realised her mistake and arranged a breakfast with Zandra the next day to apologise.
Doctor Foster star Suranne Jones got her first big break playing Karen McDonald in Coronation Street – but she clearly doesn’t do grateful.
The actress, who last graced our screens in BBC costume drama Gentleman Jack, says she’d rather give up acting altogether and become a teacher than return to Corrie.

‘I don’t blame a lot of people for taking a break and then going back,’ she says.
‘It’s a steady job, regular income.
‘But I was determined. I felt that if I didn’t make it, I would then go and teach rather than repeat myself back at Corrie.’
Well, that’s another one barred from the Rovers Return!
