Shahs Of Sunset star Golnesa ‘GG’ Gharachedaghi shares her sadness

Shahs Of Sunset star Golnesa ‘GG’ Gharachedaghi is struggling emotionally as she prepares to give birth without the physical support of her family in the delivery room. 

GG, 38, who will be welcoming her first child any day now, candidly revealed just how difficult being pregnant under quarantine had been while appearing on Watch What Happens Live on Friday.   

‘Emotionally I definitely wasn’t expecting to be in this position,’ she told Andy Cohen. ‘I would say the last two months have weighed a little heavy on me because I haven’t really been able to interact with my friends, or had that physical support of friends being around, and knowing that I can’t have all my family with me in the hospital to see my son as soon as he is born… it makes me really sad, it makes me sad.’

Andy did his best to lift her spirits, telling her, ‘Well hang in there. We’re all so happy for you, and we’re so excited to meet baby Elijah!’ 

Though she is unable to be with her friends, fortunately GG’s parents are staying with her and treating her to numerous home-cooked meals a day.   

‘Surprisingly I have not had any pregnancy cravings, but I’m really lucky because this quarantine I have an excuse that my parents are basically staying with me, they’re quarantined with me, so I have a home cooked meal three-four times a day, which is amazing!’ 

GG became pregnant through IVF, and is proud to be raising her child as a single mother. 

The reality star, who was married for four weeks to Shalom before calling it quits in 2017, told People at her baby shower: ‘I could have focused my energy into finding a partner to have a baby with; that wouldn’t have been hard. But I’m totally choosing this because this is what I want; this is what I’m ready for. I love that.’  

GG will be naming her son Elijah, which was inspired by her favorite actor Elijah Wood. 

‘I remember first seeing him in [1992’s],’ GG said. ‘He was just, the guy for me. My best friend and I even had a bet where I said if I had a boy, I’d name him Elijah. So when I found out I was pregnant with a boy, I was like, “Well, that’s settled!”‘

The Hebrew name was also selected as a way of honoring her sperm donor, who is Jewish.

In addition to her baby news, GG also discussed a recent episode of Shahs Of Sunset, where she was comforted by Mercedes Javid following a health scare. 

GG did not believe Mercedes’ actions were sincere.   

‘I do not think MJ was being sincere,’ GG told the show. ‘I know how MJ operates. That’s how her genius works – her manipulation – she shows that side of herself and then as soon as you lower your guard then all of a sudden those little boom jabs come out of nowhere and you’re like “Oh god!”‘
