BBC Breakfast host Dan Walker, 43, wrote a candid post about Lynn Faulds Woods who died at the age of 72 after suffering a stroke on Friday. The broadcaster admitted she was “lovely” on the two occasions he met the journalist.

In view of his 641,000 Twitter followers, Dan shared a photo of Lynn while she presented Watchdog.

He wrote: “Oh no. Lynn Faulds Wood has died. Loved watching her on TV. Met her twice and she was lovely on both occasions. Much love to her family.”

Fans also flocked to comment on the post, with many offering their condolences.

One Twitter user penned: “72 is no age these days. A familiar face from my youth. Sorry for John’s loss. RIP Lynn.”

The television duo recently took part in an indoor charity bike ride for BBC’s Big Night In.

Louise revealed their campaign had raised £25,000 so far in donations.

Dan retweeted his colleague’s post which read: “THANK YOU everyone, you have been amazing supporting #TheBigBikeIn I have read all your messages and loved them, and am so grateful to everyone who donated and joined in.

“This where we are, way past my wildest expectations.”
