Alex Rodriguez shares silver lining amid coronavirus crisis: ‘One thing I’m incredibly grateful for right now is additional time with my family’

The pain, strife and stress related to the coronavirus crisis has been palpable across much of the world over the last couple of months.

But amongst all the uncertainty while under quarantine, baseball legend Alex Rodriguez has been able to discover a silver lining through the fear and anxiety.

‘One thing I’m incredibly grateful for right now is getting to spend additional time with my family,’ the former New York Yankee great shared in a lengthy post along with a picture of himself with fiancee Jennifer Lopez and his daughter Natasha, 15.

A-Rod, 44, and JLo, 50, have been sequestered at their home in Miami, amid the pandemic, with their four children from their previous marriages. 

‘I love spending so much time with these beautiful girls, who still laugh when I make goofy faces in pictures,’ he gushed.

The New York native then turned his thoughts to the world as a whole and how he hopes he can make a difference.

Rodriguez said he's trying to do something positive each day, and urged his 3.7

‘Each day I am trying to focus on doing one positive thing for someone else. This is a time where we all need to help each other, and by doing so we will help ourselves remember that this situation may be temporary, but our actions are permanent,’ he added.  

‘Let’s make the most of this time and stay together as a community, even while we are apart with our families.’ 

Rodriguez then urged his 3.7 million followers to do something positive, like texting a loved one.

‘Be grateful for the people in your life. You’ll brighten their day, and then ask them to pay it forward and reach out to someone else to do the same.’

He concluded by asking everyone to ‘stay safe and spread love! We will come out of this, so let’s do our best to take care of each other.’

Along with JLo and his daughter Natasha, Rodriguez has also been quarantined with daughter Ella, 12, from his marriage with Cynthia Scurtis and Lopez’s 12-year-old twins Emme and Maximilian, whom she shares with ex-husband and singer Mark Anthony.

The couple, who have been together for over three years, recently postponed their summer wedding in Italy due to COVID-19.
