Kelly Ripa obsesses about gray hair roots but it turns out husband Mark Consuelos loves the natural look: ‘I look forward to when it’s just completely gray’

Kelly Ripa has been giving updates on her battle with gray hair roots on her Instagram Story in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Then just last week, the Live With Kelly And Ryan host made light of her gray growth while talking about hair maintenance while under quarantine with guest host Mark Consuelos.

Well, it turns out her husband of 23 years actually likes the natural look.

Hair maintenance: Kelly Ripa has been obsessing about her gray hair roots battle while in quarantine, but her husband Mark Consuelos confesses he likes the natural look

‘Since I met you, you told me that you’re gray,’ he said.

‘And I gotta tell you, I see you in the morning and I think it looks beautiful. I like it. I’m looking forward to when it’s just completely gray.’

In true Ripa fashion, she shot back: ‘Which is probably by the end of the week,’ as she burst out laughing.

‘I’m running out of spray … so yeah, you’ll get to see my gray hair any second now.’

Ripa, 49, revealed last week that she’s been using color spray to keep her natural gray at bay while in home sequester with her family.

She’s also been documenting her battle of the gray by sharing a series of images as part of her ‘#RootWatch’ posts on Insta-Story.

Ripa had previously addressed her hair-coloring dilemma while under quarantine with co-host Ryan Seacrest that was posted online in March. During an interview with two hairstylists, the hosts got helpful tips on coloring one’s own hair at home that included using popular boxed brands sold at pharmacies.

Ripa recently told The Strategist that she’s been using L’Oreal Paris Magic Root Cover Up, which is a spray, to keep the grays away in between visits to the salon.

‘I have tried a lot of similar products before — like, every other one on the market — and take it from me, this one is the best,’ she said.

‘The spray requires little effort, looks good, and is so fast: Spray it on the parts you need, and you’re done. You have to hold the spray in the right spot, and I zhuzh it a little bit afterward so that it doesn’t look like spray paint, but there are directions on the bottle that tell you how to use it. I use it all the time, for a lot of different events, and the light-to-medium blonde color matches my hair so well.’
