Doctor Doctor star Nicole da Silva reveals she would like her own spin-off series – after it was announced that the show WILL return for a fifth season

Nicole da Silva has revealed she would love her own Doctor Doctor spin off. 

The 38-year-old plays Charlie on the series, and believes she and her co-star Miranda Tapsell could have their own show. 

She tells Stellar: ‘It’s a great team and Miranda was a wonderful addition – I do believe she and I need our own spin-off.’

The actress says she can’t wait to get back to work after production, which was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic, was halted.

‘That’s actually one of the things I’m most looking forward to post-isolation: going back to the set. I’m missing the teamwork and my mates,’ she said. 

It comes after it was announced that  Doctor Doctor will be returning to screens.

The Channel Nine medical drama starring Rodger Corser as Dr Hugh Knight has been renewed for a fifth season.

Nine’s head of drama Andy Ryan told TV Tonight last week: ‘We are thrilled to commission a fifth season of Australia’s favourite drama series.

‘With its stellar cast and beautiful rural setting, viewers of all ages have fallen in love with the misadventures of Dr Hugh Knight… We are really proud to be able to support the creative team behind Doctor Doctor for another season.’

Easy Tiger Productions, which has produced the previous seasons of Doctor Doctor, has yet to announce filming dates.

 In the meantime, the current season of Doctor Doctor will resume on April 22.
