GOGGLEBOX’s Pete has left viewers in hysterics with his whacky DIY face mask to protect himself from coronavirus.
The 25-year-old debuted the look which featured a glass saucepan lid held securely over his face by tightening the cords around his hoodie.
His sister Sophie, 23, gaped at Pete in bewilderment as he showed off his invention telling him, “you look like a deep sea diver”.
Pete replied: “I’m safe though aren’t I?”
The Gogglebox star then ordered Sophie to “cough at me”, but she refused instead saying “no, you cough at me”.
Pete coughed and said:”Have a bit of that.”
The insurance worker then coughed at his sister a few times and then started to breathe heavily clearly struggling to get air.
Sophie asked: “Can you even breathe in that?”
Pete confessed: “No it gets a bit hot in here.”
Viewers loved Pete’s makeshift mask and rushed to make their own.
One Twitter user wrote: “My daughter was hysterical laughing with your face mask, we paused the tele so she could go do her mask…when we pressed play u came back on with the same as her hahaha.”
Another said: “By far one of the funniest things I’ve seen on telly ever.”
While a third wrote: “Pan lids & hoodies on Govt issue soon.”
A fourth Twitter user added: “Love @Petesandiford’s face mask idea. Genius.”
The brother and sister duo live in Blackpool where Sophie works as a shop window dresser and Pete.
The pair often hang out together in their spare time and regularly share snaps of their nights out on Instagram.
Even though their fan favourites they came under fire earlier this month after accused Joe Wicks of “cashing in” on the coronavirus pandemic.
The Fitness expert, 33, has become the UK’s PE teacher during lockdown by posting daily exercise videos for kids.
