A long way from Summer Bay! Home and Away star Lukas Radovich plays a gay teenager in an edgy new music video

He is best known for his role as Ryder Jackson, the long-lost grandson of Alf Stewart, on Home and Away.

And Lukas Radovich left fans giddy with excitement this week after he starred in the music video for Secret Lover by indie band Yuma X.

The video follows a closeted gay teenager, played by Lukas, who is involved in a secret relationship with his friend’s boyfriend.

Lukas’ character pretends to be enjoying the company of a female friend on a camping trip, but is privately developing feelings for the other man.

The two men then share a passionate kiss, before continuing their trip like nothing happened.

Lukas’ Home and Away co-star Georgie Parker was quick to praise him for the video, commenting on Instagram: ‘This looks amazing’.

It’s not the first time the Summer Bay heartthrob has experimented on screen.

Last year, the long-running Channel Seven soap featured its first gay storyline in nine years when Darius Williams (played by Ty Anderson) misjudged his friendship with Ryder, who is straight, and kissed him unexpectedly.

Lukas told Digital Spy at the time that he had treated the gay kissing scene ‘like any other storyline’.

‘We’re given new storylines almost every two weeks, so I just treated it like anything else and so did everybody in the production, We just carried on as if it was another storyline,’ he said.

‘On the actual day, we went through a few rehearsals without kissing, and then we ended up shooting the kiss in the end. So we just treated it like any other scene.’
