Kate Hudson discussed her historic People cover alongside mother Goldie Hawn and daughter Rani Rose – the first time the mag ever featured three generations in their Most Beautiful Issue (now in its 30th year).
‘I was so happy they asked about it being a family picture because it’s now more than ever, family is everything, isn’t it?’ the 41-year-old Oscar nominee said in a preview from Wednesday’s episode of The Ellen Show.
‘At the end of the day when you boil it all down, we’re all doing what we can by staying in for the sake of not only everybody, but the health of our families and to protect our unit. I think that the message of a strong unit is really important and beautiful.’

The 41-year-old Oscar nominee said in a preview from Wednesday’s episode of The Ellen Show: ‘I was so happy they asked about it being a family picture because it’s now more than ever, family is everything, isn’t it?’
Kate, the 74-year-old Oscar winner, and her 18-month-old toddler were photographed by Coliena Rentmeester back in early February before the coronavirus quarantine began.
Hudson – who was also on the cover of People’s Most Beautiful Issue in 2008 – was only 17 the last time she shared a cover with her famous mother and it was the August 1996 edition of InStyle.
‘What an interesting foreshadowing that was to my career, and the fact that I was able to accomplish the things that I’ve been able to accomplish that my mom gave me the floor and the opening to be able to feel confident enough to go out and feel like my life could be my own life,’ the nepotistically-privileged socialite recalled.
‘And then all of a sudden here we are with little Rani, I just thought, “Wow I hope I can give Rani that floor.” I just hope I can give her that kind of confidence.’

Goldie told People when the Fabletics co-founder welcomed her privileged princess with partner Danny Fujikawa, ‘It’s a big deal. I mean, it really is.’
‘When you have your children and you have a man who loves your children, that’s a very tough bond,’ Hawn gushed.
The 33-year-old Lightwave Records founder met Kate in 2002 through his stepsisters Erin & Sara Foster, and the couple hope to have the kind of relationship Goldie has with her partner of 37 years, Kurt Russell.
‘To live up to that is really the goal,’ Hudson – whose estranged father is Hawn’s ex-husband #2 Bill Hudson – gushed.
