My Kitchen Rules’ Pete Evans sports a shaved head and scruffy beard

How’s self-isolation going? MKR judge Pete Evans looks unkempt after weeks in lockdown as he takes his daughters to the beach in Sydney

After spending weeks in self-isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic, Pete Evans looks like a new man.

The My Kitchen Rules judge, 47, unveiled his new look on Monday while at the beach in Malabar, Sydney, with his daughters, Chilli, 14, and Indii, 13.

Looking worlds away from his well-groomed TV persona, Pete sported a shaved head and scruffy beard in a photo shared to Instagram.

‘Always fun times,’ the Paleo diet advocate captioned the post.

The trio appeared to have spent the day surfing, as indicated by Chilli and Indii’s black wetsuits and wet hair.

Pete and his daughters are self-isolating at his home in Malabar. They are also regularly visiting the $1.2million farm in northern NSW that Pete shares with his wife, Nicola Robinson.

It comes after Pete stirred controversy after bizarrely claiming that his $15,000 lamps could treat the ‘Wuhan virus’ with ‘recipes’ made from light.

Earlier this month, Pete shared a post to Instagram promoting the BioCharger NG Subtle Energy Platform, which is described as a ‘hybrid subtle energy revitalisation platform’.

‘Four transmitted energies stimulate and invigorate the entire body to optimise and improve potential health, wellness, and athletic performance,’ he said.

‘It works to optimize your health, wellness, and athletic performance by aligning and balancing the energy of every cell in your body.’

The Channel Seven star said he and his family were using the ‘non-invasive’ lamp ‘pretty much every day’.

He added that the lamp comes programmed with thousands of recipes including ‘a couple on there for Wuhan coronavirus that you may be interested in’.

There is no scientific evidence Pete’s lamp has any effect on coronavirus.

The Therapeutic Goods Association (TGA) has since announced plans to investigate the device.

The TGA also issued a warning about advertising relating to COVID-19, reminding consumers that the advertising of all therapeutic goods in Australia is regulated by the TGA.

The Australian Medical Association (AMA) also publicly criticised Pete for spruiking the machine.

‘This guy just doesn’t get it. Pete Evans is trying to sell a $15,000 fancy light machine to vulnerable and frightened people to protect them against COVID-19,’ the organisation wrote on Twitter.

‘He is not a doctor. He is not a scientist. He is a chef.’
