She’s had enough! Married At First Sight’s Elizabeth Sobinoff has exposed her ‘brutal’ trolls for the ‘appalling and disgusting’ comments they have sent her – including death threats

Elizabeth was fat-shamed by her first ‘husband’, Sam Ball, on MAFS season six and returned to the franchise a year later with a new look and slimmer frame.

The confident bride said she had learnt from her experience on the show last year to be careful when using social media.

‘[The trolls] can be brutal and absolutely appalling and disgusting. Two hours before I go to bed I don’t look at [social media] and first thing in the morning I don’t look and I also don’t read or reply to comments,’ Elizabeth said.

Last month, she described her trolls as ‘disgusting’, ‘wrong’ and potentially dangerous during an appearance on Talking Married.

Elizabeth said the online attacks had been worse this year than in 2019 when she first took part in Nine’s social experiment.

‘For instance, I’d actually personally never had a death threat… I’ve had two [this season],’ she told host Shelley Horton.

‘It’s disgusting and people have got to realise we’re people as well. It’s not on. We’re real people.’

It’s not the first time Elizabeth has taken a stand against trolls.

In July 2019, she hit back at cruel keyboard warriors who had accused her of airbrushing her body in a photo shoot for NW magazine.

‘Let me just say the people who left negative comments about these pics, shame on you. Talking about thigh gaps, I have a thigh gap. I’m not the most toned person on the planet I have really big hip bones and the top of my legs don’t touch,’ she said.

‘Apologies for my bone structure offending you. If you are choosing to “zoom” in, look at my stretch marks and dimples and where my tan has worn off. Look at my rolls even in this picture.’

Elizabeth lost 10kg after he ill-fated appearance on MAFS season six, which was filmed in late 2018 and aired on TV last year.

Last year she shared a photo to Instagram of herself wearing lingerie with the words ‘thin’ and ‘thick’ written across her stomach in protest.

‘Thin? Thick? I’ve been called fat, been called flabby, been told I’m promoting anorexia, been told I must have had weight loss surgery,’ Elizabeth wrote in the caption.

‘Been told my a** is too big and my thighs as well (thick thighs save lives) my top too little. Then I get told I’ve lost my curves, trying to indicate I’ve lost my soul.’

Speaking to 9Honey in March 2019, Elizabeth revealed she was suffering from two chronic health conditions: porphyria, a blood disorder, and autoimmune disease, which is a mild form of Lupus.

She said because these conditions can cause fluctuating weight, she was at her ‘heaviest’ while filming season six of MAFS.
