Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez show off their quarantine workout skills… after reports they are putting in a bid to buy the New York Mets

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez got in a little late night workout that A-Rod shared on his Instagram story.

The 50-year-old Lopez and 44-year-old Rodriguez were both seen working out with dumbbells in their home gym on Monday night.

Their workout session comes just hours after Variety reported the power couple have retained JPMorgan Chase to raise funds in a bid to purchase the New York Mets.

While neither Lopez nor Rodriguez have commented on the report that they’re gearing up to put in a bid to purchase the New York Mets.

The couple’s combined net worth is reportedly around $700 million, with the Variety report claiming they would be part of a group lead by other investors who would complete the purchase.

The potential deal is said to be compared to Rodriguez’s former New York Yankees teammate Derek Jeter, who contributed $25 million to the $1.2 billion sale of the Miami Marlins and now owns 4% of the team and also runs business and baseball operations for the team.

If Lopez and Rodriguez do ultimately become owners of the New York Mets, it would return them to their New York roots.

Lopez grew up in The Bronx, where the New York Yankees play, and Rodriguez grew up in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan.

After playing for the Seattle Mariners and the Texas Rangers (where he signed a 10-year $252 million contract that was the richest in baseball history at the time), he played for the New York Yankees from 2004 until he retired in 2016.

Lopez started dating Rodriguez in February 2017, and the couple announced their engagement in March 2019.

The couple had been planning to get married in Italy this summer but US Weekly reported last week that they have decided to delay it until things get back to normal following the coronavirus pandemic.

‘It was all planned out and paid for. They obviously had to postpone it due to coronavirus, but J.Lo wants to marry A-Rod shortly after things go back to normal,’ an insider said of the wedding.
