She won her very first Oscar on the eve of her 53rd birthday this year, but that now seems like a lifetime ago.
Laura Dern was spotted stepping out to walk her dog in Los Angeles on Friday afternoon, using a delicate patterned scarf as face protection in keeping with current guidelines established to help prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.
The Enlightened actress and mother-of-two dressed her 5ft10in frame in a thick knit grey sweater for the outing, along with a pair of cropped black skinny jeans.

The Big Little Lies star at one point had her hair back, and wore amber sunshades.
She sported clunky white trainers with red accents on her feet, and was later seen removing a glove in order to chat on the phone.
Dern, daughter of famous actors Diane Ladd and Bruce Dern, swept the awards circuit earlier this year for her supporting role in Noah Baumbach’s Netflix film Marriage Story, which costarred Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver.
And as expected, on February 9th, she clinched the Best Supporting Actress Oscar, after two previous nominations.

And while Laura is most known for her work in often critically acclaimed independent film and buzzy TV shows, one of her earlier roles was in a huge blockbuster –– 1993’s Steven Spielberg epic Jurassic Park.
This year, Dern was in the midst of reprising her role in that film –– paleobotanist Ellie Sattler –– for the latest installment of the dinosaur franchise, Jurassic World: Dominion, when the coronavirus struck.
Last month, Jurassic World producing studio Universal halted production on that film along with its other live action shoots in various stages of production, as a measure of protection against the spread of the disease.

Similar to all productions that have been closed throughout Hollywood, it is unknown when the shoot will be able to resume, and whether the interruption will impact Jurassic World: Dominion’s previously announced June 2021 release date.
Laura, meanwhile, has been keeping herself busy around the house, where she is in isolation with her mother, 84, son Ellery, 18, and daughter Jaya, 15.
The actress recently took to Instagram with Jaya, who Laura shares with her ex-husband Ben Harper, to present their ‘All Good Deeds 2020’ challenge to help the Downtown Women’s Center of Los Angeles.
