‘I miss him already!’ Viewers despair over chef Gordon Ramsay’s departure from MasterChef and wish he was ‘a permanent fixture’ on the revamped cooking show

Gordon Ramsay has been a huge hit with audiences on the newly revamped series of MasterChef.  

On Thursday night, the fiery celebrity chef’s guest role came to an end, and viewers were quick to share their feelings about his departure on social media.  

‘I really wish Gordon Ramsay was a permanent fixture on MasterChef Australia. I miss him already,’ commented one viewer.

While another preferred to keep things short and sweet: ‘It’s not gonna be the same.’ 

‘Not gonna lie.. feel a bit weepy that Gordon is leaving. We will miss you,’ said a third. 

One viewer went so far as to say they were surprised to see Gordon, who is always marketed ‘as the chef from hell’, turn out to be ‘a genuinely good guy, who’s humble and completely passionate about cooking’.

His departure even left some fans so impressed, they demanded he return to the cooking competition as a permanent judge.

Gordon is the first celebrity guest judge to appear on MasterChef: Back to Win. 

Popstar Katy Perry and chef Curtis Stone are both set to appear in coming weeks.

Earlier this week, fans lost it on social media after Gordon got up to his old tricks when he let loose and began swearing. 

‘Gordon is swearing at dry pork. This is everything I wanted from this episode,’ one fan tweeted. 

Fans have tuned in to the new season in droves – MasterChef experienced a ratings blitz on Monday night. 

The cooking reality show pulled in an incredible 1.5million viewers, it’s largest figures since the launch of juggernaut singing competition The Masked Singer.
