Piers Morgan will host Good Morning Britain four days a week ‘for the foreseeable future’ after being lauded by fans for hard-hitting COVID-19 coverage

Piers Morgan is now hosting Good Morning Britain for four days a week.

The 55-year-old presenter usually fronts the ITV show from Monday-Wednesday, with Ben Shephard taking over for the rest of the week, but for the ‘forseeable future’, he’ll also co-anchor the Thursday show.

Piers announced the news on Twitter on Wednesday in response to a fan who had praised his work covering the coronavirus pandemic on the show.

For the foreseeable future: Piers Morgan is now hosting Good Morning Britain for four days a week

He tweeted: ‘Thanks Tris, I’ll actually be doing 4 days a week (Mon-Thurs) on @GMB for the foreseeable future, starting tomorrow.’

He later added: ‘UPDATE: On tomorrow’s @GMB we’ll have man of the moment @captaintommoore, @KathJenkins singing We’ll Meet Again live… and @MattHancock

‘Oh, and me. I’m now doing Thursdays too – which I’m sure the Health Secretary will be especially pleased to learn.’

Piers admitted on Thursday’s show that it felt ‘weird’ to be back in his seat for the extra day.

Earlier this month, the presenter revealed he’d set up a studio at home in case coronavirus meant he was unable to travel to work.

Sharing a snap of his daughter Elise, 11, in front of the camera, he wrote on Instagram: ‘Elise Morgan reporting live from her father’s office, via the new self-isolation @gmb camera kit (should I need it..).’

The photo showed a huge TV – which can be used as a backdrop – behind a leather office chair, while another screen was place opposite so Piers would be able to see his guests and fellow broadcasters.
