David Beckham keeps fit with his son Cruz as the pair do 50 bicycle crunches during home workout

He is self-isolating with his wife Victoria and three of their four children in the sprawling grounds of their Cotswolds estate.

And although he doesn’t have access to a gym, David Beckham is keeping fit throughout lockdown as he works out with his son Cruz, 15.

The former footballer, 44, took to Instagram and shared a video of the pair doing 50 bicycle crunches together before they tried and failed to high-five each other.

Alongside the video, David wrote: ‘Just because we can’t get to the gym doesn’t mean we can’t keep active. @cruzbeckham and I have been using the @adidas training app to make sure we stay fit and healthy from home.’

The pair were dressed casually in the clip with David sporting a black jacket and matching bottoms with a bright red beanie hat.

Meanwhile, Cruz donned a white t-shirt and dark joggers with a bright pink hat.

While David and Victoria are at home with Cruz, Romeo, 17, and Harper, eight, their eldest son Brooklyn, 21, is isolating in the US with his girlfriend Nicola Peltz as that’s where he was when the outbreak began.

It comes after David put his free time to good use on Easter Monday by paying a surprise visit to a cancer sufferer at his Oxfordshire home.

He made a rare appearance outside the grounds of his estate in order to visit a speechless David Roberts at his home in nearby Abingdon, Oxfordshire.

Adhering to strict social distancing rules put in place by the World Health Organisation, David was hard to miss in his trademark Baker Boy cap while greeting the stunned 70-year old, a supporter of Manchester United’s fierce rivals Liverpool.

The visit was all part of a charity initiative organised by Age UK, with the former footballer supplying David with a goody bag after arriving at 10:15 in the morning.

Speaking about his surprise meeting with the footballer, the pensioner admitted he had been told to expect a visit from a ‘high-profile celebrity’ – but had no idea it would be the England legend.

He told the Oxford Mail: ‘David was at my door right on time. All I could think to say was, “Hello, how are you?”

‘He is a lovely guy, we chatted about what will happen to this season’s football, Manchester United and also me being a Liverpool supporter. He also gave a goody bag to me and my family.’

David, who has battled cancer for three years, lives in rural Abingdon with his wife and adult son, and he admitted they were equally deserving of the rare treat for helping him through his illness.

He said: ‘I think the visit was as much for them as me because they have cared for me since I had a cancer operation in December, which I have been battling, with the help and support of family and friends who include neighbours and work colleagues for three years.’

Launched in 2009, Age UK is the country’s largest charity for older people after merging with national organization’s Age Concern England and Help the Aged.

As well as assisting the charity, Beckham also works as a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF.
