‘Remember everything is different for different trust & it’s just helpful to know so you too can ask your truth the questions!

‘My midwife has started to wear mask & gloves, I’ve been wearing it for about 3/4weeks now luckily but I’m glad midwives have started to wear them. Now protecting themselves & others!

Lauryn then segued into the message from a follower, who explained that she had felt safe in hospital and her partner had been allowed to stay with throughout the duration of her labour.

“Hey, I have been following you for a while and just wanted to drop you a message to try and reassure you.’

The message read: ‘I had my little boy on Wednesday this week, it was the strangest experience obviously being a first time mum but also soon after I had him my partner had to leave.

‘He was there for the 11 hours that I was in labour but had to leave very soon after me giving birth.

‘I felt so strong to start with at the thought of him leaving but as I got to the postnatal ward i had a little cry as it is a HUGE thing I’d just been through and suddenly I had no one to share it with.

‘The point of my message is is just to tell you that you have 100% got this! The feeling after giving birth and wanting to do everything you can for your new little human it’s like you suddenly become super woman.

‘Whilst I was in there although the midwives and drs all have PPE on etc I didn’t think about the whole coronavirus situation once.

‘You will be absolutely fine, I’m sure many women have messaged you but I hope messages like mine reassure you.’
