Sam Smith and Demi Lovato team up for new single I’m Ready

They are hugely popular and successful in the music industry in their own right.

And now pop sensations Sam Smith and Demi Lovato have joined forces for the release of brand new single I’m Ready.

The announcement of the single comes just days after the duo tantalisingly teased fans about the upcoming collaboration. 

To promote the song, which is released on Friday, Sam and Demi, both 27, teamed up for a fabulous new picture.

In the snap the pair could be seen staring off into the distance as they donned white sportswear and gold medals around their necks. 

Following the announcement, Sam took to Twitter to share their excitement about the song.

They wrote: ‘Incredibly happy to release this song with my gorgeous and talented friend. I love you Demi!! 

‘Can’t wait for you all to hear it THIS FRIDAY xx.’

While Demi simply penned: ‘I’m Ready with @samsmith out April 17th!’

This week the duo have been teasing fans about their upcoming colaboration as they dropped hints on Twitter.

Sam tweeted ‘YOU READY?’ to Demi, with the songstress replying: ‘I’M READY.’

The How Do You Sleep hitmaker later followed it up with a video of them enjoying their garden as they said: ‘I have an announcement tomorrow. Happy Easter.  

While the Sorry Not Sorry singer retweeted the clip, adding ‘tomorrow’ alongside the looking eyes emoji. 

Meanwhile, the pair further got fans’ tongues wagging on Thursday as Sam shared a Polaroid snap of the duo hugging, with the snap ‘Captioned ‘S + D 4EVA’. 

One asked, ‘Is there a collab on the way?’, while another shared, ‘The iconic duet the world is waiting for’.

The star recently took to their Instagram account to up date fans on their decision to make some major changes to their upcoming album given the current global situation.

Sam penned: ‘To my dear fans, firstly I want to send love and strength to everyone who has been affected by this situation, I hope you are all alright during this incredibly weird, upsetting and unprecendented time.

‘I have done a lot of thinking the past few weeks and feel that the title of my album and imminent release doesn’t feel right, so I have come to the decision to continue working on the album and make some important changes and additions.

‘I will be renaming my album and pushing back the release date – both of which are to be confirmed at this time.

Don’t worry though, there will be an album this year, I promise! But until then I am still going to bring out some new music over the next few months, which I’m incredibly excited about.’

Sam concluded: ‘Thank you for always being by my side and for your understanding and patience. I always want to do right be you. Always. Sam X.’
