A terrified man who was rescued from the ledge of a 15th floor window after he slipped while taking a selfie was fined £44 for breaking lockdown rules.

Shocking footage captured two women as they held onto Anton Kozlov, 36, for 15 minutes after he fell through a window in Moscow, Russia.

The man, who was dangling 150ft from the pavement, gripped the ledge in desperation as the women clung onto his hands and arms.

His plight was soon spotted by a traffic police patrol officer, who rushed into the apartment building in the Nekrasovka District to help pull him to safety.

But the 36-year-old now faces a fine after police discovered he had flouted coronavirus isolation rules when he and his wife visited a friend for an ‘alcoholic quarantine’ party.

In the clip, a voice is heard shouting ‘hold on to him girls’ as he clings desperately to the window ledge.

He continues to hang there for a few moments longer as people pass on the pavement beneath him, before he is eventually pulled back into the house.

It was said the women ‘lacked the strength’ to pull him in.

A police spokesperson said: ‘The 36-year-old resident of Nekrasovka opened the window to take a selfie, but slipped out, clinging to the ledge with his hands.’

Mr Kozlov and his partner now face a fine of at least £44 for breaking lockdown measures.

In Russia, tough laws were introduced last month in an attempt to slow the spread of coronavirus amid 10,000 cases and 76 deaths across the nation.

Those who break quarantine rules could face a seven-year prison sentence – if they are infected with coronavirus and someone dies as a result of their transgression.

There were also fines introduced for those who violate the order to stay at home, with a potential five-year sentence for spreading fake news about the pandemic.
