He’s joined the nation in self-isolating in a bid to stem the spread of coronavirus. 

And Jack P. Shepherd, 32, has found a novel way to pass the time in lockdown as he recreated Hugh Grant’s iconic dance scene in Love Actually.

The actor, who plays David Platt in the ITV soap, showcased his moves as he thrusted his hips and pointed his fingers while dancing along to Jump (For My Love) by The Pointer Sisters.

Jack transformed into Hugh Grant’s character Prime Minister David from the 2003 romantic comedy, wearing a crisp white shirt and black trousers.

The hilarious clip starts with the actor facing away from the camera as he thrusts his hips in time to the music.

He then spins around and mimics Hugh’s character perfectly, nailing all his moves and mannerisms.

The scenes see Jack shimmying around the house before descended his staircase just as Hugh’s character did in his 10 Downing Street abode.

The video ends with Jack recreating Hugh’s famous spin and point scene which culminates in him getting caught red-handed by his secretary.

Jack’s girlfriend Hanni Treweek even joined in with the fun as she made a cameo in the video.

While the spoof was all fun and games, Jack shared that he made in in honour of the NHS as he thanked key workers on the frontline fighting coronavirus. 

He captioned the video saying: ‘Wanted to recreate this Hugh Grant dance from love actually, a film we covered on the @sofacinemaclub.

‘I’m dedicating this to the NHS who have shown that love actually is everywhere & Boris Johnson, have a speedy recovery and get back in No 10.’

He then added: ‘Let’s try and recreate more movie scenes #MyMovieChallenge.’

Jack’s dancing comes after he shared sweet throwback snap as he celebrated 20 years on the cobbles as troubled character David Platt.

The soap star expressed his gratitude towards the show for giving him his huge TV break in the emotional post.

The actor’s collage featured a series of photos from his days as a cheeky schoolboy, as well as shots of David in action with his co-stars.

Jack captioned the pictures: ‘Today marks my 20th year anniversary playing the role of David platt, here’s a few photos of my life before I got the part and a few highlights of my character. Thank you @coronationstreet for everything.’
