Nina Dobrev takes an isolation break to walk her dog after encouraging fans to thoroughly wash their hands amid COVID-19

Nina Dobrev was spotted walking her dog Maverick around her neighborhood on Thursday.

She covered up in a thick black jacket as she braced the Los Angeles rain storm for the outing.

The 31-year-old actress also took to Instagram and encouraged her fans to stay safe amid the novel coronavirus crisis that is raging across the country.

While out for her walk, she paired the thigh length jacket with black white leggings that fell right below her knees.

She teamed the look with black over the ankle rain boots, a white T-shirt and rose colored glasses.

Her pooch, who she rescued back in 2017 after her cat Lynx died of an illness, seemed to enjoy some time on the grass while out of the house.

Also on Thursday she wrote to Instagram   ‘If I wasn’t OCD about washing my hands before [and I was], I am now.’

And she told fans that despite their previous affinity or non affinity for washing their hands, it’s not too late. Saying: ‘If you weren’t OCD about washing your hands before all this [thats okay], START NOW.’

For the photos she wore a multicolored striped shirt under a long blue apron, with bright red gloves covered in suds.

The Vampire Diaries’ star had her hair pulled back into a messy bun and seemed to go fresh faced while posing in her picturesque kitchen.

‘Friendly reminder. Sanitize everything. EVERYTHING. Stay home. Stay safe. Sending love,’ she also wrote.

Her message comes as the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has seen over 16,000 deaths in the U.S. with many states being put on a form of lockdown to limit the spread.

New regulations have recommended avoiding all non-essential businesses and wearing face masks in public.

While in isolation Nina seems to be growing a relationship with Olympic gold medalist Shaun White.

The two were spotted on March 22 enjoying a Sunday bicycle ride together in Malibu with Maverick perched on his lap and he has been seen leaving her place since.

Nina, who famously once dated her Vampire Diaries co-star Ian Somerhalder, was last in a known relationship with filmmaker Grant Mellon.

The pair reportedly broke off their romance in November of 2019 after first being linked in January of that year.
