He’s had a skyrocketing past 12 months, touring North America with chart-topper Lewis Capaldi and he’s set to join Niall Horan on his upcoming Nice To Meet Ya tour.
And on Wednesday, Sam Fischer, 28, made his US television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live in the most unusual of circumstances.
The 28-year-old Australian performed his smash breakout single, This City, live from his bathroom in his Los Angeles home.

Sam’s performance was broadcast into the homes of people self-isolating all over the world – as the American talk show host delivered a special edition of his series from the comfort of his own home.
‘Never in a million years did I think I’d be shooting my TV US debut in my apartment, on my iPhone and totally raw,’ Sam told Daily Mail Australia on Thursday.
‘Given what’s going on in the world, we didn’t really have a choice and we weren’t going to let the opportunity go to waste.’

He concluded saying: ‘In the end it’s made this experience one I’ll never forget and a story I’ll tell for years to come. ‘
The Sydney born songwriter turned into an overnight success after his song This City went viral on TikTok, with over 1.4 million creations and over one billion views.
Sam has also penned songs for global superstars including Jessie J, Demi Lovato, Keith Urban and Louis Tomlinson.

He recently credited his overnight success to TikTok fans.
Speaking to The Music Network, Sam said: ‘It took 18 months of the song being out and then, randomly, TikTok found it and that has been crazy. It changed everything for me.’
‘It’s a weird thing because I wrote This City in 2016, I put it out at the start of 2018, and it got shared widely by some amazing friends. Meghan Trainor shared it. Lewis Capaldi shared it.
‘The song got a lot of eyes on it, but it wasn’t getting any love from anyone for a long time except for the fans. When I say anyone, I mean Spotify, Apple, Amazon. But it was a fan-favourite.
