Wally Lewis’s shock career change revealed: Rugby legend, 60, becomes radio entertainment reporter… as he spends his first segment on-air discussing Married At First Sight

Wally ‘The King’ Lewis has proven that it’s never too late to start a new career.

The former professional rugby player, 60, surprised fans this Wednesday by taking on the role of an entertainment reporter for Brisbane’s 97.3 FM.

He joined the station’s breakfast team Robin, Terry & Bob on Wednesday to deliver his first showbiz bulletin.

During the tongue-in-cheek segment, Wally reported on one of the most talked-about shows in Australia at the moment – Married At First Sight – while making sure to include plenty of rugby jokes.

‘The Married At First Sight reunion had more heavy physical contact than the first 20 minutes of State Of Origin, with Stacey and Michael tearing up their marriage contracts to play with Mikey and Hayley,’ Wally said.

‘There was more dummy throwing, name calling and cursing than the end of season contract time at Red Hill [rugby league club],’ he joked.

Giving Richard Wilkins a run for his money, Wally kept viewers entertained with a report on the upcoming season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
