The Queen delivered an impassioned speech to the UK in support of the battle against coronavirus over the weekend.

And Sheridan Smith has joked the monarch took style inspiration from her following their meeting at a reception held in honour of Prince Edward back in February 2015.

Sharing a throwback snap from the event on Instagram on Tuesday, the pregnant actress, 38, looked sensational as she sported a green cocktail dress in a similar shade to the 93-year-old’s outfit for her televised address to the nation.

The Gavin & Stacey star praised the royal’s speech while injecting a hint of humour to her post as she wrote: ‘I knew she liked my green dress.. amazing speech from her majesty the other night. “We will meet again” ❤️.’

More than 23.3million people watched the Queen’s ‘inspirational’ and ‘galvanising’ appearance, where she echoed Dame Vera Lynn’s words: ‘We will meet again’. 

On Wednesday, the media personality, who is expecting her first child with fiancé Jamie Horn in May, shared a heartwarming flashback snap of herself singing alongside her parents, Marylin and late Colin, as a child.

‘Found this old picture of me singing with my folks, made me smile’, the TV and stage star wrote.

Sheridan’s father sadly passed away aged 80 in December 2016, after being diagnosed with cancer earlier in the year.

Last month, the screen star excitedly shared the first 3D image of her little boy as she excitedly awaits his birth.

The Cilla actress revealed the sweet photo on her social media account, where she told fans it while be her last ‘for a while’ amid the coronavirus lockdown.

The incredible image shows the tot’s features clearly, with Sheridan joking that he already has ‘chubby chops’.

Captioning her picture, she penned: ‘I’ve just been told that I won’t see this little face for a while now because of lockdown, so thought I’d share his beautiful chubby chops with you guys to cheer me up. ❤️
