Lockdown showdown! Mice have a vicious battle on a deserted London Underground platform

  • Suzanne Lord recorded the clip on an empty platform at a tube station in London
  • The two tiny challengers stand perfectly still as they stop to size each other up
  • Begin to do battle as they roll across the ground before scampering out of view

Two mice were caught on camera taking advantage of the commuter-free platform to have a territorial battle.

Suzanne Lord recorded the clip on an empty platform at a tube station in London on Tuesday.

The tiny challengers began to do battle before eventually scampering out of view.

The video starts with the opponents already locked in a fierce stand-off.

Both stand perfectly still as they size each other up before one launches itself forward.

It runs in a zig-zag toward its counterpart who then quickly turns and unsuccessfully tries to flee.

One manages to wriggle free before scarpering off with the other mouse in pursuit. They clash once more before shooting off toward an exit and out of view

Ms Lord shared the clip, which had a dramatic backing track overlaid, alongside the caption: ‘Fisticuffs at the tube stop.’

The station was largely deserted due to the ongoing coronavirus lockdown which has seen everyone but key workers warned to stay at home.
