Lisa Vanderpump continues her fight to end China’s wet markets during COVID-19 crisis

The COVID-19 crisis has impacted Bravo star Lisa Vanderpump in more ways than one but the ever resilient mogul is stepping up to do what she can to adjust to this new normal.

Lisa spent some time chatting exclusively to DailyMailTV this week about her fight to end China’s wet markets, having to close her ultra popular restaurants and what’s going on with Vanderpump Rules.

Currently, Lisa is quarantined in her stunning Beverly Hills home, Villa Rosa with her husband Ken Todd, their six rescue dogs and even some swans and ponies.

Both Lisa and Ken are now having to care for their home (and their flock) like never before. The reality star shot a great home video of her husband vacuuming, a site she swears she’d never previously witnessed.

‘Oh my god, ken vacuuming! That’s something I don’t think I’ve ever seen before,’ she laughed, adding that she recently stepped up to bathe the ponies.

‘I’m Mrs. Mop,’ the glamorous star joked. ‘I’m cooking, I’m chained to the stove I’m kind of running around, it’s a lot to keep up.’

Lisa is also doing her best to manage her vast restaurant empire, but sadly she’s had to lay off most of her employees because of the pandemic.

‘It’s challenging for sure,’ she explained. ‘You know, especially when you have to close all your businesses. It’s very sad and I love [all of] my staff that work for me but it’s just been a very difficult time.’

Dine-in restaurants were one of the first things be shut down in the city of Los Angeles to help mitigate the spread of the coronavirus, which Lisa explained was particularly troubling as it’s not just business for she and Ken, it is their livelihood.

‘We have no alternative,’ she said. Adding that they’re still responsible for paying things like rent ‘and the insurances and all those things’ despite being closed.

Meanwhile, her other business, Vanderpump Dogs, is still open during this pandemic.

And, along with making sure local rescue dogs are still being cared for, Lisa is fighting against the re-opening of the wet-markets in china, where the coronavirus originated.

‘This is where the Coronavirus came [from],’ she said of the markets. ‘We predicted this. We talked about this five years ago saying what you’re doing… there’s no sanitation there.’

‘We have to understand this is a global problem,’ Lisa continued. ‘Collectively this world could do something. Everyone needs to pull together and say this is not okay, this really needs to stop it’s barbaric, it’s inhumane.’

While the reality star is spending her time in isolation, she is also focusing on her newly released app called Lovedog, which she promises is just the right dose of happy that people need right now.

Lovedog is available in the app store for download and users can post all their ‘wonderful pictures and videos of your furry friends.’

‘I want to see all your pictures of all your furry people because its the time now we need to bring levity at home and have a bit of fun with something,’ Lisa said.

Some levity: Lisa also recently released the Lovedog app where users can share adorable photos and videos of their furry friends which, she said, is just the type of content people need right now

As for the immediate future of Vanderpump Rules, the pandemic effectively threw all of the network’s reunion plans out the window.

The cast had been scheduled to film the reunion special earlier this month as the show is set to wrap up season eight which is currently airing.

‘It’s undecided as to what we’re going to do but certainly there’s a lot of issues that need resolving so we cant just leave them out there,’ Vanderpump revealed. ‘We actually do need to come out with something.’

Lisa suggested that the Rules cast may do some sort of virtual reunion episode but plans are still in the early stages.
