Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Adrienne Maloof’s uncle Phil Maloof passes away at age 93 from the coronavirus

Phil Maloof, the entrepreneur uncle of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Adrienne Maloof, has passed away at age 93 from the coronavirus.

Adrienne, 58, shared the news of her beloved uncle’s passing on Instagram on Monday afternoon, along with a brief tribute.

‘We lost my uncle, Phil Maloof to COVID-19 this past weekend. Bless him and the extraordinary life he lived. Rest In Peace,’ Adrienne said in her Instagram tribute.

Adrienne also linked to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, which reported on Maloof’s death on Sunday, with Phil’s nephew George Maloof confirming his uncle’s death.

‘He was a great man who loved his dogs and his collection of classic cars, art, and theater pipe organs,’ George said via text.

‘He was a bachelor, he never married. He had been stricken with coronavirus and was diabetic and had been ill of late,’ George added.

Maloof was not only Adrienne’s uncle, but he was known as ‘Uncle Phil’ to many in the Las Vegas area, where his family first settled in the early 1900s.

His family business started with humble roots in the grocery business before expanding into hotels and banking.

The family owned the Fiesta Casino in Las Vegas, which they sold and then invested in the Palms Casino.

The Maloof family also owned the Sacramento Kings NBA franchise for many years, before selling off their majority stake in 2013.

They are also minority owners in the Las Vegas Golden Knights NHL franchise as well.

Uncle Phil Maloof, not to be confused with the younger Phil Maloof, Adrienne’s brother, was also an avid collector of various treasures from around the world.

The businessman also ran The Phil Maloof Foundation, which, ‘seeks to archive and cherish classic pieces of history for future generations, according to Uncle Phil’s website.

The foundation, ‘specializing in the restoration of priceless automobiles, organs of antiquity, and other treasures.

‘The Phil Maloof Foundation travels the world over gathering under its wings pieces of time before they are lost,’ according to the website.
