Australian radio personality Kate Langbroek has been documenting her time in Bologna, Italy with her family amid the country’s strict lockdown during the coronavirus pandemic. 

And fans can’t get enough of her 16-year-old’s son Lewis’s new mullet, after she shared a photo of his new hairstyle on her Instagram account, last month.  

Alongside a picture of Lewis in the kitchen cooking, her followers gushed about his ‘famous hairstyle’.

‘That mullet is fecking glorious’ one admirer wrote. Another joked: ‘Glad to see Lewis has got the obligatory Melbourne teenage mullet and taken it global.’

‘Good to see Lewis rocking Aussie’s famous hairstyle of the mo – the mullet,’ another wrote, before saying it’s an excellent choice ‘when they are no longer trips to the professional hair stylists available.’ 

Another commented: ‘Mullet game – strong! My son has a work in progress’.

One doting mother commented: ‘My 17-year-old son wants a mullet, I keep thinking of the 1970’s mullets and saying, ”Oh, please don’t”, but hey I like Lewis’s, I’ll show Jed this one.’

Responding to one fan, Kate said: ‘Lewis told me i’ll have to shave it when it grows back,’ before she cheekily added she was picking up new skills in lockdown.

Kate and her husband, Peter Allen Lewis, relocated to Itay in January 2019 with their children, Lewis, Sunday, Artie and Jan, for what was supposed to be a ‘gap year’, but they have since extended their stay for another 12 months.

Last month, Kate told radio Fifi, Fev & Byron her family have had to go ‘for days’ without leaving their apartment, with the exception of trips to the grocery store.

‘Every couple of days it feels like something happens. Something else closes, there’s something you’re not allowed to do. So we’re literally going for days and days now where we don’t leave the apartment,’ she said. 

Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a respiratory illness characterised by fever, coughing, a sore throat, shortness of breath and fatigue. It can cause pneumonia.  

As of Monday morning, there are 5, 750 coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Australia and 37 deaths.
