Disney reveals new release dates for coronavirus affected films including Mulan and Jungle Cruise… and announces 2022 release for Indiana Jones 5

Disney has revealed new release dates for their films which have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

With theaters across the United States shutting down to help slow the potentially deadly COVID-19 virus sweeping the globe, Hollywood is scrambling to reschedule their film slates.

And as the world’s biggest film studio, Disney have had to make some particularly difficult decisions, like postponing their tentpole films like Mulan and Jungle Cruise.

Scrambling: Disney has revealed new release dates for their films which have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic

The Walt Disney Company pushed back their live action remake of the 1998 animated film Mulan to July 24.

The film should currently be in theaters but was pulled from release once the coronavirus hit.

Meanwhile, the Disney film that should have been released on July 24 – Jungle Cruise starring The Rock and Emily Blunt – has been delayed by a year, with the new release set for July 30, 2021.

Meanwhile, the changes have also affected Disney-owned Marvel films like Black Widow and The Eternals. 

The Scarlett Johansson-starring Black Widow has been bumped from its original May 2020 release slot to November 2020.

And the film which was supposed to have that release date, The Eternals starring Angelina Jolie, has been pushed back to 2021.

Meanwhile, the forthcoming Indiana Jones sequel was given a release date of July 19, 2022.

The film, which will once again star franchise lead Harrison Ford, is the first film since the critically-derided Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

The 2008 film earned almost $800million at the worldwide box office, all but guaranteeing a sequel.
