Married At First Sight’s Mikey Pembroke has gone to great lengths to prove he slept with Stacey Hampton, even subjecting himself to a polygraph lie detector.
But his former ‘wife’ Natasha Spencer revealed it took months for the 29-year-old to tell the truth, and he only confirmed it when another cast member exposed him.
Now, speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Mikey explained why he had such drastic change of heart when it came to revealing what really happened, after the scandal came to light at the recent reunion dinner.

‘I didn’t want anyone to know. It was old news,’ Mikey said.
He explained he didn’t want his one night stand with Stacey, 26, to ruin her relationship with Michael Goonan.
‘I didn’t want a one night thing to ruin their relationship. However, Aleks [Markovic] – who was with Ivan [Sarakula] – broke it to the girls and they both sorta knew on the night,’ he said.
‘I didn’t want anyone to know. It was old news,’ Mikey said
‘Once it was out, I had to own it.’
He went on to take a stab at Stacey, who still denies the affair happened at all.
‘It’s one thing not telling people something. It’s a whole other ball game lying,’ Mikey said, slamming his former fling.
This week, Natasha told WHO magazine that she remained friends with Mikey for several months after the show, until co-star Aleks told the girl’s group chat the truth.

‘We were chatting and I was asking how she was going and she randomly said, “Oh, by the way, I should probably tell you something”,’ Natasha recalled.
Natasha felt ‘blindsided’ by the betrayal, having only broken up with Mikey four hours before he slept with Stacey.
‘He literally turned on his heels as soon as I said I was going, packed his suitcase, said “this is done”, went to another room and f***ed Stacey,’ she added.

At Tuesday night’s dinner party, which was filmed on January 15, Natasha accused Stacey of having a one-night stand with Mikey in front of the group.
‘And I’d like to toast to Stacey… for f**king my husband on our one-month anniversary. Cheers to you, babe,’ she said.
