In his clip, Phillip said: ‘I’m gonna say thank you to my mum for coping. She has been locked down on her own in Cornwall now, getting food delivered to just outside her front door and then going out and picking it up when it’s been left behind.

‘She’s not complaining. She’s being resilient, she’s being funny, we’re FaceTiming and she seems to be coping incredibly well.

‘So I just wanna say thank you, mum. Thank you for grinning and bearing it and being such fun. And let’s not forget to Keep Britain Talking.’

Meanwhile, Holly was seen getting emotional during Thursday’s This Morning when her co-presenter Phillip admitted he was missing their team.

While Holly and Phil continue to present from ITV’s London studios, most of their guests, contributor Vanessa Feltz are taking part in the show from home.

During Vanessa’s advice helpline segment on Thursday, Holly admitted she was missing having their co-star in the studio.

Phillip added: ‘I miss everybody not being in here.’ As well as taking precautions by limiting the number of guests in the studio, This Morning is also broadcasting with a minimum amount of crew.

Holly and Phil are also having to sit two meters apart during the show, in accordance with social distancing rules.

Phil made Holly emotional as he told her: ‘Thank goodness we’ve got each other. You’re a long way away but thank goodness we’ve got each other.’

‘I know. Oh my god, I think you’re going to make me cry,’ Holly exclaimed, her voice cracking.
