Pregnant Cara De La Hoyde shared a picture of her 20-week scan on Instagram on Thursday as she praised nurses for keeping the experience ‘calm and safe.’

Love Island star Cara, 29, is expecting baby number two with husband Nathan Massey, 30 – they are already parents to son Freddie, two.

She wrote: ‘So yesterday I had my 20 week scan, I can honestly say the whole experience was so calm and the nurses are amazing ❤️.

‘I wore gloves but I felt totally at ease & safe. If you have a scan coming up please don’t worry the hospitals are really doing everything they can to relax you ✨.’

Then she urged her fans to try and guess the gender of her unborn child, writing: ‘But what do we think?’ alongside a red and a blue love heart.  

Under government guidelines, pregnant women are among the people who have been urged to remain in lockdown at home for 12 weeks.

They can leave home once a day to pick up food or get some exercise in a bid to stop the spread of the cofonavirus. 

The UK death toll is currently at 2,352 and rising with 29,474 people confirmed as having contracted the virus. 

The day before, Cara had said she was feeling ’emotional’ being pregnant during the coronavirus pandemic.

She wrote: ‘This pregnancy has been so different, so many emotions and things that none of us could have ever expected ❤️ 

‘I’ve taken the decision to also start taking my antidepressants again which coming off was a big deal for me after 12 years but sometimes you need to swallow your pride and do what’s best for you and your family.’

She continued: ‘Midwife today & a scan tomorrow excited to see our baby but also very anxious about going to the hospital on my own, which is obviously a possibility now for the birth depending how long this continues.

‘So just a quick one if your someone that is still out and about socialising thinking that isolation doesn’t apply to you, please take a look at all people and all aspects of peoples lives being affected and stop being a selfish n*b head. Thanks.’
