Nicole Kidman signs on to produce and star in Amazon adaptation of upcoming thriller Pretty Things … after digital network won bidding war
Even in quarantine, Nicole Kidman is still one of the most in-demand actors in Hollywood and she just landed a big new role with Amazon.
The 52-year-old Oscar winner is set to star and produce a new thriller for the streaming network, according to Variety on Thursday.
Pretty Things, which is an adaptation of Janelle Brown’s forthcoming eponymous novel, is slated to be a series produced under the actress’ Blossom Films production company.

‘The streaming giant won the rights to the novel in what sources describe as a highly competitive situation with multiple bidders in the race,’ Variety reported.
The highly anticipated thriller from Brown is being adapted for the screen well before its scheduled release on April 21st.
Kidman will play one of the two starring roles, though it is unclear which one, according to the report.

Brown, a New York Times best-seller, will be at the helm of transforming her page-turner into a must-watch project and is serving as an executive producer.
Due to the current global coronavirus pandemic, Kidman’s latest project, HBO’s The Undoing, was pushed back by the premium cable network.
Also based on a novel, Kidman stars opposite Hugh Grant as an uppercrust Manhattan couple whose life is turned upside down by ‘a violent death and a chain of terrible revelations.’
The limited series was scheduled to debut in May but HBO announced recently that it was being shelved until an unspecified date in the fall.
