Back in business! Richard Wilkins heads straight to work as he leaves self-isolation for the first time in 19 days after testing negative for coronavirus

He has been self isolating for almost three weeks after repeatedly testing positive for coronavirus.

But Richard Wilkins finally got his negative result on Tuesday evening, and was seen leaving the house the following morning for the first time in 19 days.

The 65-year-old entertainment reporter went straight back to work at Channel Nine after being given a clean bill of health.

Richard wore a novelty T-shirt and jeans as he left his home on Sydney’s North Shore.

Holding a pen in his mouth, the Weekend Today host walked down his drive barefoot and dropped something into his letter box.

He later emerged wearing a denim overshirt and leather boots, and climbed into his $80,000 Volvo before driving off to Nine’s Willoughby studios.

Lugging his packed leather satchel on one shoulder, Richard looked like a man on a mission as he headed towards the office.

Richard was back to work just one day after he received the good news, telling his fans on Instagram on Tuesday evening he had been cleared as negative from the deadly virus.

He wrote: ‘Coronavirus you’re outta here! I’ve been cleared to return to work by the incredible team at NSW Health.’
