Matthew Wright’s webcam BREAKS and Andrew Castle needs a helping hand from his daughter as This Morning is plagued with tech gaffes

It’s keeping afloat when many shows have been forced to halt filming due to the coronavirus pandemic.

But This Morning was hit by various webcam blunders during Wednesday’s show, as both Matthew Wright and Andrew Castle suffered some awkward tech gaffes.

As they chatted about the latest headlines surrounding the virus outbreak, Matthew’s webcam briefly cut out, while Andrew accidentally flipped to the wrong camera lens and needed some help from his daughter.

Both Matthew and Andrew were guests on This Morning via. webcam to discuss the newly-built Nightingale Hospital which will treat patients battling COVID-19.

Chatting about how the army are working round the clock to ensure the hospital is ready for us, Matthew said: ‘My wife and I were watching it last night and we both said….’ before his webcam unexpectedly cut off.

Seeing the humorous side in the blunders, Holly Willoughby said: ‘Oh no, cliffhanger,’ while Phillip Schofield added: ‘It’s like the end of Game of Thrones!’

Eventually Matthew managed to regain his internet connection and rejoined the discussion, adding that he thought the new hospital was a ‘grim-looking place,’ but knew that it was only to house those who were ‘seriously ill.’

As they discussed whether members of the public are taking the nationwide lockdown serious, with Matthew adding: ‘We are in extraordinary times. The reality is we have to stay at home. 

‘I haven’t been out of this house at all for three days. It’s getting to the point where I’m getting very angry about the people who are not self-isolating.’

As the chat continued, Andrew’s camera accidentally flipped to face away from him, meaning he needed the help of his daughter Georgina to help turn it around.

Once again seeing the funny side, Phil said: ‘Thank God there wasn’t someone naked there. It’s a lovely kitchen by the way.’

At other points Andrew’s webcam also cut out, with Phil admitting that with all the gaffes the serious news segment was turning into ‘a comedy show.’
