‘Alright COVID-19, try your hardest’: Celeste Barber jokes about protecting herself against coronavirus as she imitates Victoria’s Secret model Joan Smalls in a hilarious video

She has built an empire on parodying celebrities on Instagram.

And on Tuesday, Celeste Barber was up to her usual antics as she joked about protecting herself against COVID-19 while imitating Victoria’s Secret model Joan Smalls.

The 37-year-old comedian posted a video to Instagram of herself in a bikini and kitchen gloves with snorkelling goggles, a sleeping mask and a scarf wrapped around her head to protect herself from coronavirus.

‘Alright Covid try your f***ing hardest,’ Celeste captioned the post.

In the video, Celeste comedically sprayed a bottle of kitchen cleaner, imitating a similar clip posted by Joan on Monday, in which the model also wore a bikini and gloves while holding a spray bottle.

Showing that she could take a joke, Joan commented on the post: ‘Killed it!’

On Wednesday, Celeste went for a walk next to the beach in Tweed Heads, where she currently lives.

She posted a photo of two women walking in the middle of the footpath to her Instagram story, with the caption: ‘Hey models, MOVE OVER! Look at all this room.’

The comedian was likely trying to practice social distancing and felt that the two women were taking up too much space for her to pass without getting close.

Last month, Celeste jokingly called herself ‘the Australian Oprah’ in an interview with InStyle magazine after the hashtag #CelesteforPM went viral because of her Herculean fundraising effort during the bushfire crisis.

‘I’m not a political comedian. Not because I don’t think it is important; I’ve just always treated my social media platform to entertain,’ she said.

Meanwhile, the deadly COVID-19 pandemic continues to sweep through Australia.

As of Wednesday evening, there have been 4,862 confirmed cases, which have resulted in 21 deaths.
