Romantic comedy fans can channel their inner Bridget Jones with an underwear set that contains a pair of giant knickers for an eye-watering £670.
Italian fashion house Gucci is flogging a cotton bra and pants set that wouldn’t look out of place in the drawer of the iconic movie character.
Book publisher’s assistant Bridget – played by Renee Zellweger – made oversize undies hip when Hugh Grant’s character Daniel Cleaver discovered that she was wearing ‘absolutely enormous panties’ in the 2001 hit film.

And Gucci’s take on the comfy knickers has a price tag to match the size of the not-so small smalls.
The firm’s website reveals: ‘Crafted from embroidered GG tulle in ivory and completed with a light pink elastic Gucci stripe, this bra and briefs set completes several looks from the Spring Summer 2020 fashion show.
‘Diaphanous ready-to-wear pieces with lingerie inspired details embody what the Creative Director described as a ‘beautiful cliché of sexiness,’ a concept explored throughout this collection with hints to the idea of freedom that fashion experienced in the ’90s.’
Bridget Jones began as a character in a column in the Independent in 1995 before it was adapted into a novel the following year.

It became a film in 2001 starring Renee Zellweger, Colin Firth and Hugh Grant, two sequels were released in 2004 and 2016.

The backpack consists of leather straps plus a metal horse-bit design and Gucci says: ‘Presented on the Spring Summer 2020 runway, the pillow holder brings a fashion element to the Gucci 1955 Horsebit line.
‘Black leather straps secure around the included pillow, shown with a Double G stripe fabric pillow case. The adjustable leather shoulder straps can be detached, leaving the accessory to be held by the top handle.
‘The front is further enriched with the line’s distinctive Horsebit hardware, an equestrian-inspired House code formed by a double ring and bar.’
